Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of talent management in achieving organizational excellence in private banks in Baghdad, given the increasing challenges facing the Iraqi banking environment, particularly those related to retaining human capital and enhancing organizational capacity in a competitive and rapidly changing technological landscape. The research's significance stems from the limited number of Iraqi studies addressing the relationship between talent management and organizational excellence in the private banking sector, especially within Baghdad's private banks, The research employed a descriptive-analytical approach. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to a purposive sample of 183 employees from five private banks: Bank of Baghdad, Bank of Babylon, Iraqi Investment Bank, Gulf Commercial Bank, and Ashur International Bank. The validity and reliability of the measurement instrument were tested, demonstrating that it met statistically acceptable standards. Data analysis utilized a range of statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and simple linear regression, The results showed that the level of talent management adoption in the surveyed banks was relatively high, ranking second only to talent development and last only to talent retention. This indicates a relative weakness in human capital retention policies within some of the surveyed banks. The results also showed a high level of organizational excellence, with organizational trust leading the way in this variable. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between talent management and organizational excellence, underscoring the importance of investing in talent attraction, development, and performance management to enhance organizational cohesion and trust within banks.

The research concluded that talent management represents an effective strategic approach to enhancing organizational excellence in the banking sector, particularly in environments that rely heavily on specialized human resources. The research recommends developing talent retention programs, strengthening training and professional development systems, and linking talent management to banks' strategic objectives to contribute to enhancing organizational trust and sustainability.
