Publication Rules

The Journal of Al-Ma'moon University College invites researchers and academics to submit original research papers featuring novel ideas that have not been previously published in any other journal. Below are the approved guidelines and formatting standards for manuscript preparation, font sizes, figures, tables, and citation/reference formatting.

1. Manuscript Formatting & Submission Layout

  1. File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc / .docx) format using the standard journal template.

  2. Page Orientation & Layout: Pages must be set in portrait orientation, with figures and tables integrated directly into the main text body at their appropriate positions.

  3. Primary Font: Use Times New Roman, size 12 pt for the main body text.

  4. Equations and Mathematical Notation:

    • Computer symbols, informal decimal notation, or non-standard custom characters (e.g., writing $x2$ instead of standard mathematical notation) are strictly not accepted.

    • The formatting of equations, citations, abbreviations, and comments must comply with the journal's standard specifications.

    • Mathematical terms and expressions must be clear and readable. It is strongly recommended to use MathType (v5.0 or later). Avoid lengthy printed derivations; cite the original reference instead.

2. Manuscript Length & Core Structure

  • Length: There is no strict limit on page count, number of figures, or supplementary information. However, authors are requested to present and discuss their findings logically and concisely.

  • Core Components: A complete manuscript must include:

    1. Paper Title, Author Name(s), and complete contact details.

    2. Abstract and Keywords.

    3. Main Body (Introduction, Methodology, Results & Discussion, Conclusions).

    4. Figures, Illustrations, and Tables (if applicable).

    5. References list.

    6. A brief bio/introductory profile of the authors.

Required Focus: Manuscripts must explicitly address: (a) A comprehensive definition of the research problem, (b) The importance and necessity of solving it, and (c) The authors' specific contribution and role in addressing the issue.

3. First Page Details (Title, Abstract & Keywords)

  • Paper Title: Center-aligned, font size 18 pt, Bold.

  • Author Names & Affiliations:

    • Author names: font size 12 pt, Bold.

    • Affiliations and contact details (Full postal address, institution, city, country, email): font size 12 pt, Bold.

  • Abstract:

    • Heading ("Abstract"): font size 14 pt, Bold.

    • Body text: font size 12 pt, Regular.

    • Word Limit: Must not exceed 120 words.

    • Structure: Must cover four key elements: (a) Problem statement, (b) Hypotheses and methodology, (c) Key findings/results, and (d) Conclusion/significance of the results.

  • Keywords:

    • Keywords are mandatory for all published papers.

    • Select approximately 4 to 6 keywords that accurately describe the primary topics to ensure effective indexing and retrieval.

4. Subheadings, Figures, Tables & Abbreviations

  • Subheadings: All subheadings throughout the paper must be set in 14 pt, Bold.

  • Figures & Illustrations:

    • Must be high-resolution (600 DPI / dots per cm or higher).

    • Figure captions: Times New Roman, 9 pt.

    • Text within figures: 8 pt.

  • Tables:

    • Three-line parallel tables are preferred, where the top and bottom border lines are set to 1.5 pt stroke, and the middle dividing line is set to 0.75 pt stroke.

    • Table captions and interior text: 9 pt, Black text.

    • Figures and tables can be placed within the text or grouped at the end of the manuscript to optimize overall layout size.

  • Abbreviations: Use standard scientific units and abbreviations. Define the full term upon its first appearance in the text, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.

5. Reference Style & Citation Guidelines

The journal follows the IEEE Citation Style.

  1. Acceptable Sources: Peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and published conference proceedings.

  2. Unacceptable Sources: Dynamic website URLs (due to content instability), personal communications, and unpublished materials are strictly not accepted.

  3. Required Information: Author name(s), full title of the paper/book, volume/issue numbers, page ranges, and publication year.

6. Publication Requirements & Processing Fees

  1. Author Commitments:

    • Upon acceptance, the corresponding author agrees to all publishing terms, including security clearances, copyright transfer, technical responsibilities, and editorial policy requirements.

    • The author(s) bear full legal and intellectual responsibility for the contents of their paper. Neither the Editorial Board of the Journal of Al-Ma'moon University College nor its readers bear any liability whatsoever.

  2. Publication Fees:

    • Upon submission, authors are required to pay a base publishing processing fee of 000 IQD (Iraqi Dinars), covering submission processing, editing, and formatting services.

    • Extra Page Charges: An additional fee of 000 IQD per page applies if the manuscript exceeds the standard page limit:

      • Applied Sciences: Applies for papers exceeding 10 pages.

      • Humanities & Social Sciences: Applies for papers exceeding 20 pages.
